If I was heading down this path, I would surely use the Holley system as their EFI software is REALLY good (if it is the same software used on their other systems). Also, there are a lot of tuner/dyno folks that know how to USE the software - which is even more important.

EFI project completed. Engine started instantly on the first try. This is the autotrend unit from CA. Installed Manifold pressure sensor, ambient air temp sensor, coolant sensor, idle air control motor, , throttle position sensor was on throttle body, and one wire went to coil. installed O2 sensor in pas ex pipe, and a Holley HP processor under the seat, pass side. Put in the tank fuel pump and pressure reg in engine compartment. Lots more details, DSC02703.jpg

"Starts immediately" is encouraging. Have you had it out on the road yet?

That's what I'd like to hear about. Keep up the good work!

I will try to load a pic and video of an engine I built for a great couple of guys with Fuel injection. Unfortunately can’t load video.

Once the partial load and road-test tuning is done, my bet is that it will run extremely well, get great gas mileage and be a total pleasure to drive. You did some really nice work on the install!

I like stuff like this. It's kinda like the time I tried to put a Quadrajet on a flathead using a Sharp 4 BBL manifold and a couple of adapters. It didn't work well the first time, but I may try it again, this time with a new carb from a 3.8L Chevy instead of a junk 455 Olds carb I tried to rebuild myself.

Yeah, I'd love to see some chassis dyno sheets on this new combination!

Road trip today. Computer learning quickly. Smooth thru the gears. can start out at idle now with no pedal nicely. Was low on gas so returned to garage. Also need to minor adjust the clutch. Had it up to 35mph. Looks very promising. All vitals good on engine Snow storm coming next week so stay tuned.

Logged 30 miles today with the throttle body EFI. The computer is learning fast. This has met all my expectations so far. I filled up the gas tank in order to get a mpg. The display I have indicates air fuel ratio bouncing around 13 so that seems rich. I am using just the mechanical advance on the Stromberg distributor. Without a crank trigger there is no way for the timing to be managed by the computer. Will continue to drive for developments but so far so good.
