The woman's dress, and gas rationing sticker on the windshield, indicate this might be an early '40s pic. If so, the car is in great shape... Note spotlight and lower-hinge outside mirror. I think the bracket on the bumper is an 'override' in case you bump a car with a higher bumper. Not sure how useful it would be.

Check that, and also something is hanging down from under the running board... A mud flap of some sort?

That was a radiator "protector common" in the 1930's. Yes, open toe shoes, etc, 1940's.

The radiator protector reminds me of a story that a friend told me years ago. He was a veteran of WWII and stationed in Europe. He said the Germans would string wire across the roads at just about neck high if you were riding in a Jeep. The Americans started welding a piece of steel to the bumper that stood straight up at about windshield height with a sharpened edge to cut the wire and prevent the alternative.

It folds down when she's driving - kinda like a cattle guard on a train only for pedestrians. It's in case they don't hear the horns her dad installed to warn people she's coming.......

I’m not sure what that emblem is on the upper radiator. It gets too grainy when I zoom in.
