Congratulations, you have a beautiful car there. Looks like Someone’s unfilled dream that you can make come true.
I am partial to Phaetons. I have that amount tied up in a touring motor and clutch. John ps shameless plug, if you need some original cowl lights for that beauty have some on the barn for sale |

The engine is stuck from sitting....maybe? Yesterday Alexiskia came over and I was in the process of removing the head, engine is definitely fresh. He starts inspecting the car and I point out all the wrong fasteners, especially the starter bolts. Later in the day I pulled the starter off because I just knew the starter bolt was jammed into the flywheel. Engine turns over now! Wick |

It’s a good car and a good bargain. Always some surprises when you buy something like this. Fan belt was an inch too short, we had to cut it off to remove the head. Lots of crud in the water jacket. Wrong studs for the top saddle, which the previous owner would have discovered if he put the top on. Seats looked good, that’ll save some time.
I told Fred he needs to stop taking on new projects though. |

Steve got it in primer and drove it like that for years. He eventually got the engine done at schwalm's. he was having trouble getting the wood bent around the back corners. In the AACA ad you could see that wood never got done. He lost all the inserts for the door panels. I was trying to lay out holes on a piece of plexiglass cut to the size of the door. You can flip it around for the other side to drill the holes in the door panels

Thanks Dave for the information. I'm going to replace all the wood in the body. I have collected alot of hardware over the years, snaps, button, inserts, tabs etc. The mirror bracket and correct wiper motor are missing, but I have the right ones stashed away.
Going with a Black top, wheels, and No white walls. Wick |

Maybe a tan pinstripe on the body. Black wheels will need a red pinstripe.

Tan on one side & red on the other, just to confuse the witnesses.
