Arrow Model A Belly Tank Race Car Becomes A Practical Work Of Art

A few years ago I transported this
Ford Model A Belly Tank Dry Lake Race Car
that made a pass or two at
The East Coast TROG …

I delivered it to the Offices of JD Powers
on the outskirts of Chicago
It has been transformed into a functional
Work Of Art …

Thumbs up Re: Model A Belly Tank Race Car Becomes A Practical Work Of Art

Father and son are both airplane restorers
and work at the same small regional airport
where I met them to pick up.

The belly tank came from one of these

The Father spent 6 years building this,
almost every evening he would spend
2 to 3 hours in the garage, he used
materials that would have been available
in the 1930’s for over 90% of the build.

That's great! Thanks for sharing. It makes me think of all the BORING meetings I attended back in my working days. A table like that would have been priceless.....

I thought the same thing - how are the
folks at the table supposed to get any
work done ?

The frame - engine - drivetrain
are from a Model A that was modified
to fit inside the belly tank profile

Thanks

Attention was paid to detail so just
about every part used down to the
fasteners is period correct for the 1930s.

The frame - powertrain - steering
are from a rolling Model A that was
modified to fit inside the footprint
of the belly tank.

Clips from the video I took

I don't think it will be long before someone "finds" that car and "restores" it.
