Sadly, you are correct. You be careful and stay safe. Disenfect your bathtub with Clorox and fill your bathtub with water, just in case, for drinking and toilet flushing Also, get propane for your gas grille.

I've got a generator and 40gals of gas. PLUS I am on a well SO I can get water anytime I need it (or at least as long as I have gas for my generator) and Use all that we have stored for drinking!!! The 39 Mercury is full SO I have another what 16 plus gallons that I can siphon off IF I need and ANOTHER 15 or so in another vehicle. SO "hopefully" we will not "NEED" it. Fingers crossed. YOU stay safe too my friend!!!

If anyone who is getting out needs a place to stay... My wife is at our house in Houston. We can take 4 people and have garage/carport for 2 (antique?) cars. If needed call our shop 800 number to coordinate.

Jeff
I am not in the direct target zone BUT I can tell you, even from where I am at its not fun dealing with this every year. IF you are wise, I start prepping for the season in March/April. I fill all my gas cans for my generator when NON Ethanol gas is lower in price. I use my cans for my lawn mower through out the year IF I don't need it for the generator. You start stock piling water and the necessities SO you are not like the masses two day before the storm is to hit!!!!! I have a generator BUT am looking to add a second one as I have two separate services on my property and my well is not on the same service as my house. I will be adding more gas cans once the season is past!!! Right now, even here there are NO gas cans to be had!!! Most places are out of water OR are limiting your purchase of.....Gas stations here are starting to run out of gas this morning!!! |

Although I am currently in SW Ohio right now, I own a home in Lakeland, FL (just east of Tampa). I am following this storm closely. I have cameras set up around my home in Lakeland and will be watching (as long as we have electricity). We usually winter in Lakeland from December to April.
You folks in Florida stay safe! Pat |

Our hearts go out to all those in the 2nd storms path….we have relatives and friends on the gulf side….as well as NC, affected from the last storm…..We get snow and cold for 4 or 5 months out of the year…when my wife complains about it…I just say “at least the house is still standing and nobody got hurt”!!!!……Mark

I have parking room for a travel trailer/Motorhome or three here on St Simons Island which is just 40 miles north of the Florida/Ga border on I-95. We don’t expect Milton to visit this far north. Call me at 912-399-7689 if you need a helping hand.

2 darn storms almost back to back is a pain in the A__. But we've gotten used to storms down here. As long as we're not to close to the shoreline and have prepared for it we should be alright. Thank Everyone for their Concern.
