Could someone tell me the inside diameter of the tailgate hinge 'rolled tube' at the bottom of the tailgate? i believe the diameter of the tailgate hinge is 3/4 inch and assume this goes direct into the tailgate. My tailgate is so beat up, its hard to tell what its meant to be.Thanks.

I am currently rebuilding my 39 tailgate and assume it’s 7/8id the same as the top roll as 3/4id is too small and 1id is too big

Jus a fyi on 41 and later gates. the upper roll is not uniform all the way across. It stays the same size verticly and the inside or front edge is straight but it should have a bow outward of maybe a half to three quarters of an inch. I can only assume they did this for strength as the earlier ones were very easy to warp and bend. Tim
