Default 1949 Mercury door handle

Trying to help a friend who is looking for a right front or left rear door handle for his '49 Mercury. I've searched the Swap Meet page without any luck, and any leads would be greatly appreciated. TIA Meric.

Is it for interior door handles or the pull type exterior door handles. That was a one year only type handle on the exterior. Lincolns used them too if I remember correctly. The 50 & 51 exterior handles were push button.

The interior ones for 1949 Mercury had the four parallel hash marks.

If this was a Canadian export then there may be a difference to the handles from the US counterpart. Also, a person needs to know if it has square drive connections or splined drive connections. I've seen both.
