Blockhead, How are you getting updates from Southwest Model A's?

nkaminar, sorry for any confusion. The update I was referring to is on the MAFCA web site.

FIRES IN RUIDOSO

June 17 - Many members have heard of fires in Ruidoso that started earlier today. I asked the Meet Chairman for updates to keep you informed.

07:06pm - From the MCM Hotel: "Firefighters from all over the state are coming in now to help. Winds have died down and we are praying they get everything under control tonight. The fire is in a residential area therefore they are not going to let this burn. There are multiple planes on it as well. We are hoping it will be out tonight."

07:30pm - from the meet chairman: "We have spoken with the caterer. They are fighting it and it has not reached town yet. Her husband and son are fighting the fire. Should be under control no later than wednesday. Just say prayers for their safety."

June 18
11:00am - from MAFCA VP Ed Tolman: "The hotels and convention center are feeling positive about things at present and plan on being open for our convention. Updates from the Fire Authority will be forthcoming."

4:00pm - MAFCA Board will hold a Zoom meeting this afternoon to discuss the situation.

As we hear more, we'll update this page.
