What water pumps do I need?

I'm putting an 8CM Merc in my '46 1/2 ton pickup. I need water pumps that will work with the wide belt and that will line up with the '46 engine mounts. The 59A pumps appear to be quite a bit different and I don't think they'll work on the 8CM. So exactly which pumps do I need? Thanks!

I just used Ford truck wide belt pumps, fit right in there.

8RT Water pumps

Yup. 8RT is what you need. I used them in a 40 Ford. Had them rebuilt by Skip Haney using the spiral impellors.

Thanks guys! Easy enough. What do the spiral impellers do? Move more volume?

FWI, the 37 through 48 pumps will bolt up to the engine but they only work well when the whole front of the motor is converted to early style. This also requires the early style cam and gearing to work with the crab or rabbit type distributor. This mod is best done during an overhaul situation.

Yes, it is claimed that Skips pumps increase coolant flow.
