Default Re: Front fender crack

Well, I finally got my fender repaired. I found a shop near my home in Hilton Head South Carolina that had experience repairing fenders on vintage vehicles. I saw examples of his work and it was beautiful so I decided to give him my card to repair the crack in the fender. it turned out that the crack was only around a quarter of an inch long so it was a relatively easy repair. He opened up the front lip of the fenders slightly and using a. length of the stiff wire, he inserted it into the bead to stiffen the edge of the fender after recon touring the curve. He relieved the end of the crack with a small drill hole and tack weld did it shot. He did a beautiful job refinishing the fender so that the color would match. All in all, it is near impossible to find any evidence that there was ever a crack or a repair in my fender. I am very pleased with the work that was done. Therefore, problems solved.
