My best advice would to go drive it. hard. burn off the carbine sitting in the driveway.

My first clue was seeing a post from G.M. He passed away a few years ago.

Running with the choke on too long or rich cruising (high vacuum, low throttle) mixture puts carbon in the oil

Sure but that is what history is. Some time 5 years from now, someone will have this question. Here it is with years of opinions.

No problem with any of the previous answers, but here’s another perspective on the dirty oil question:
Any engine in any condition will retain dirty oil in every passage and every surface, to be mixed with the new oil. Think of it as pouring white paint into a paint can that previously held black paint.
