Riley ?
Hypothetically speaking, if a complete Riley OVHD was found, what would it be worth on the open market? Condition UNK.

Re: Riley ?
With no info, you can figure from $1000 to $5500

Re: Riley ?
Riley 2-port, maybe $3500, if it is not cracked and is complete. 4-port, iron or aluminum, complete, $5,000 more or less depending on how much the buyer wants it.

But, there were many castings sold not machined and that left some to be machined with questionable techniques. I have had a couple of heads come in for evaluation after the owners attempted to install and run. The operable word here is attempt, one did not fit on the block (stud locations) and the other, well lets just say some of the internal passages were interconnected (leaks of water into ports and chambers). Caveat emptor would be the caution here. John PS, one ended up polished and looked great hanging over the mirror in the bathroom....

Re: Riley ?
Building a Riley 2-port now with help from my engine rebuilder friend on anew Burtz block.
I think Charlie Yapp pegged the heads about 4600 but I would say that somewhere between there and 6k for the head if no issues and excellent shape. Make sure all is complete… pushrods etc…. Might sound high to some but then go find one. |

Re: Riley ?
I don’t have any first hand knowledge about these heads or know anyone that has installed one. They are new builds, and the $7,500 price includes the push rods, head gasket, ARP stud kit, intake manifold fabricated for 2 Ford three-bolt carbs (Stromberg Pattern) and an adapter for an early Ford V8 water pump.
http://riley4port.com/parts/ I have an original Apr 1934 4-Port, that was machined well, bolt pattern true, the only problem was the intake flange that mounted to the head was “warped”, but was milled true with no problem. |

It is one of the first run of castings The machine work is done well everything lines up and fits nicely We did find a small issue in the water jacket and they are correcting I like the followers and shims to equalize the valve ht Overall the castings are well made and plenty of material Is going on dyno soon J
