53 mercury clutch bolt pattern
Hi all. I'm getting closer on my 41 pickup with the rebuilt 53 255. The truck is in my brothers shop out in Oregon so I'm taking two week trip out there to get the lions share of the install done. He called me last night and said the flywheel I had surfaced and balanced had a different bolt pattern for the 10" clutch. Something about each of the six bolts being evenly spaced around the wheel so the almost new 10"clutch off the 8ba won't bolt up as it has six bolts in groups of two. Did ford and mercury use two different clutches? Sorry no photos as I'm not there until Wednesday. Thanks,Tim

Re: 53 mercury clutch bolt pattern
please disregard my question above. I found a very comprehensive older thread on the subject. Tim
