I install the bellhousing to the engine and then install the transmission.

I believe that the O/P is referring to a '50 Ford Custom he mentioned in his other post. I wholeheartedly agree with "Zeke3" to install the bellhousing first and then the transmission. In fact, I can't imagine doing it the other way. One thing to be aware of. You should use an alinement tool when installing the clutch disc and pressure plate to the flywheel to make sure everything lines up. The clutches I have purchased lately came with a plastic splined tool.

Update on the overdrive. It was junk. The good thing is the guy gave me my money back. I know where there is another. Haven't decided if I want to pursue it. |
