I'm sorry to see good money and time/labor come to nothing. I haven't asked an important question here, does it chatter every time you use the clutch or just when leaving a standing start? New and reproduction pressure plates have a protective coating on the clutch surface that needs to be cleaned off with brake cleaner or lacquer thinner. If this is left on the surface it can and most often does cause clutch chatter. I don't know it all. These are just some things I've ran into over the last 50 years. Tim

Oops, just read post 13. You might have someone watch your rear wheel from the side when you start from a standing stop. If your getting spring wrap the rear wheel will kind of lerch back and forth. It could be a combination of weak rear springs and the added leverage from the drop blocks causing your issue as well. Tim

While you are checking the rear end and springs be sure to check the shackles. Worn shackles can allow spring movement.

Just curious; what did you do about the stripped motor mount bolt? Ford put two bolts there for a reason.

Sorry it taken so long for a reply Tubman. That was an interesting sorry. Withe my new motor mount’s being a little thicker than the old ones. I put bolts in that were too long and went straight through the water pump. The other water pump threads stripped out so I had to replace both pumps. Now I’m trying to fabricate new lower radiator hoses.

Piston broke the chatter only happens from a standing stop. Goes through second and third fine. Kinda like starting at a dead stop in high gear. One thing I forgot to share. I couldn’t find a throw out bearing hub. I reused the old one and it had a weak tab.

Had the same problem. It just progressively got worse. Contacted Centerforce and bought their complete 8BA package. (Flywheel, disc and diaphragm PP)
I got tired of wearing out my wrenches on unreliable rebuilders, and so-called NOS
