I see Bob Drake is again offering molded 1 piece 40 door seals for both the long door sedans and the short door coupes. They're a bit pricey at $225 for the pair. I love driving my 40 coupe but the wind noise gets very annoying on a long trip at interstate speeds even though I have good wind lace. Does anyone have any experience with this product?

Well to make sure the noise is coming from the lower seal I would roll a towel and lay it along the floor to see if the noise quiets down. Once upon a time you could buy just the rubber seal to install in the stainless seal plate.

I have the Drakes door seals with the SS plates and they seem to work well on my 40 deluxe coupe with 39 doors I bought mine years ago and they were not that $225 price but the quality was good.

I have the Drake 3 sided door seals on my '40 coupe. Been there for about 10 years.
They help, still not completely quiet at speed. That's where the earplugs come in to play. |
