At $3,000, I'd buy it, drive it, take my time investing in anything other than changing fluids, tires as they fail and keep driving it and then drive it some more.

That said, I have no issue with those who sometimes go to great lengths to restore a car back to how it was in the showroom. I've done it myself (not Model A) but I find I enjoy driving the repaired car more than worrying about scratches etc.
