A little advice from the gray hairs please.
49 oil change service interval is 1year +10 months. Mileage is 480 miles. Ya, I know not driven enough. Oil is just off amber in color. Opinions?? |

If it was mine, I would change it. Oil is cheap in the long run. Anyway, i always like to read the bottom of the drain pan.

I change mine when it dark brown but not black. I am running the stock filter and if it can't clean it it's time to change both oil and filter. When I've looked inside one of my engines after years and many thousands of miles they are still as clean as when I assembled them. Tim

If not in a climate controlled building condensation in engine can occur. This is one reason to change annually in the spring.

With our clean new roads, Is a filter really necessary? Low mile drives and frequent changes. Newc

I guess my question would be what are you doing with the car now? If it's just going to sit in storage all winter I'd just assume leave it and change it in the spring at this point. If you want to start driving again maybe change it sooner? I'd let it ride if it still looks clean but I don't have grey hair.
