It would fit nicely in my WWII Ford Jeep. Tells you the angle at which you are leaning, left or right......OR NOT!!! Perhaps for Marmon-Harrington equipped vehicles too???

kind of knew it was for aircraft. served on and experimental device in the Navy and we had them on the bridge with a big red line we were told if it went past that line we could turn turtle---well let me tell you we went well beyond that line and the device shuddered and shook but never turned turtle

Your part may be a replacement part for a larger assembly since the mounting of the gauge is critical to it's function.

Tells you when to shift, when climbing a hill. I couldn't resist. I have no idea.

My old Piper J3 had one. used to help make coordinated level turns using stick, rudder and elevator to keep the ball centered.

Right after retirement I worked as a "Seasonal" with the state, mowing highway grass medians and buffer areas, some bridge and overpass approaches with rather steep incline. Most tractor/mower equipment had an inclinometer to warn the operator of possible "roll-over" situations. I suppose if you started to roll, you could get a glimpse of the angle you had reached,..!!
