Default 36 ford carb

Can I use a 39-41 ford model 91-99 carb on my 36 engine?

I may be wrong but I believe the 35 and 36 came with a Stromberg 48

Early 36's (likke mine) came with the Stromberg 48 and soon afterwards the 97 was used. Even if you have the 48, I would stay with it. It is as good as the 97. terry

The 97 was introduced to aid fuel economy in the middle of the depression. The 48 will give more power. I like to use 48 middles with 97 tops and bottoms.
The 91-99 is better than either and not sensitive to air cleaner restrictions
