1929 Model A rear wheels
I have been helping a relative work on his collection of Model As
and I have run into something I don't know about. When the car is going sown the road, the rear wheels wobble. I have already checked and made sure the rims aren't bent and that the lug nuts are tight. Is this a major repair or something simple that can be taken care on the car? |

Sounds like when the rear hubs/drums were put on the key rode up a little bit in the axle while sliding them on.I would check for that first before looking for bent or warped parts.

Make sure that the rear axle nuts are torqued to approximately 100 ft.lbs

Have you switched the wheels on that car? I couldn't find it again but I think that some wheels didn't sit tight on the drum allowing them to flex/warp when tightened down.

Thank you for all the responses. Gives me a starting point to
look at before tearing the car apart. |
