Advice
Hello everyone. I’m a Model A owner who just came across a ‘32 B closed cab
Pickup with the original 4cyl. The truck is in great shape and runs great! Has nice tires and road ready. It’s not perfect and I’m fine with that. The price is 14,000 I’m leaning towards buying it. Is there any repair manuals for these trucks? I’m Leary on the purchase mainly because of Replacement parts availability,Repair manuals and of course value… Could anyone shine some light? I asked on the A forum and some were very helpful but I figured this forum would make more sense. Thanks |

Re: Advice
If you don't buy it someone else will for sure. Of course, JMO.

Re: Advice
It sounds like a good project and because you're a Model A guy - you'll understand the Model B and it will be just an "improved version" of the A. (Don't get jumpy A guys!).
The price sounds reasonable - depending on what shape the pickup is in, originality, what has been messed with (or not), etc. You should post some pics so we can see the condition and the originality. If you choose NOT to buy it, please pass it on to other folks on this site who would want it. (Me being one of them!). |

Re: Advice
With a name like yours, it's probably tough for people to know if you're serious or not.
But seriously, buy that truck. You will forever regret it if you don't. Have fun! |

As for literature, there are inexpensive reprints of the '32 chassis parts catalog, body parts catalog, owners manual, and service bulletins, which are the minimum print requirements to support ownership of a '32 Ford. The Early Ford V8 Club offers its "1932 Ford Book", which is 600 plus pages of photos, illustrations, and text covering the '32s, including the commercial vehicles. It is available on the Club's website (earlyfordv8.org). Addendum to the book are also on the website at no cost. Do not waste your money on the 1948 so-called "green bible" as there isn't much in it of value to an owner of a '32 given that it only includes '32 parts that were still carried by Ford 16 years after the fact. The photos below are of my '32 pickup restoration project. |

Re: Advice
I know I'm getting old, but 14K$ for a 32 4 banger PU. My first car wsd a 26 chevy 4 DR, paid 12 bucks for that, Ran good but you had to shift it with a piece od angle iron. Next car was a 34 chevy coupe with rumble seat, ran great paid 40 bucks for that ( my weeks pay was 25 $). So I just can't see a 32 PU for 14K$. But the nickel candy bar is just a memory

Re: Advice
A perfect '32 frame can sell for $7000.00, if there are any perfect ones left, been a long time since I've seen one that wasn't junk. Reproduction doors $2300.00 a pair.. A good firewall $700.00 and your already at $10K so $14,000.00 is a fair price for a nice driver. Make dure the VIN on the frame matched the title. Check the back bottom of the cab for rust and the bottoms of the doors.
