Disappointed.
I took all the parts out of the carburetors and cleaned all of the passages that I could see with spray can of carb cleaner. I didn’t remove the jets or the emulsion tube. I didn’t find any “clog” anywhere. Everything looked new. I put them back together with no problems. I had a hard time getting fuel back up from the fuel tank. Fuel pump wouldn’t pull it up from tank so I had to blow it in by pressuring the gas tank. Got the engine started. Took it for a short drive. Runs like crap. Has no power. I thought it might be looking at another 3 hour wait for the tow truck but I was able to limp back home. It looks like my attempt to clean the carburetors has only made things worse. I believe it’s time to bite the bullet and send them to Charlie. Richard |
