These Fords Needed a Ride Home
These two Fords needed a ride home. A "barn-find" 2-door 1954 Customline that has not seen the road since 1984. And a 40 coupe "field-find" with an unknown history that needs some loving. The International, diesel powered '56 C-750 hauled them without even working up a sweat. What a fun day!

Re: These Fords Needed a Ride Home
I hope you chose the 7.3L diesel for the '56 and not the garbage 6.0L.
Maybe a newer 6.7L ? Sal |

Two great old Fords with a new owner. What are your plans for them?

Had a 2004 6.0. No issues for the first 46,000 miles next 1,000 miles were a nightmare. Sold it to Carmax and bought a Duramax. Turbo just went tits up at 89,000 miles. Maybe a Cummins next time?

Yup, International T444E which is a 7.3 powerstroke with some International goodies. They were meant for school buses and hauling kids but, this one hauls toys.

Bring the '54 back to life. The 40, I'm thinking about building. Trouble is, the '54, a '56 f100 and a '72 Maverick cloning to '70 grabber in line before it. To say nothing for the "Honey DO!" list.

The 7.3L was a great engine, especially by 2002 (it's last full year). The 6.0L was launched for 2003 1/4. Sal |

Re: These Fords Needed a Ride Home
The 6.9 and 7.3 IDI were also 100% international. The last year 7.3 IDI with turbo was pretty strong and by now the ones with cavitation issues have almost all gone on to junkyard heaven.

Re: These Fords Needed a Ride Home
To 51504 Bat, where do I find the 52/59 social group, on the HAMB or the Jalopy Journal. I searched but nothing came up??
Thank You |

OK I'll try to point you in the right direction but computers aren't my strongest suit. Near the top of the Hokey Ass Message page you see an icon that has 3 profiles on it. /click on it and then scroll down to social forums. Click on it and then Brands, and then the 52-59 Social Group. You have to be a member pf the HAMB and logged in the do this. It's been a while since I actually joined but IIRC the actual joining process is straight forward.

Re: These Fords Needed a Ride Home
I must be doing something wrong; I am a HAMB member & I got to the 52/59 social forum from your instructions but keep getting a message saying I don't have authority to proceed.

When you're on the 52/59 social forum page go to the Social Forums tools icon. Click on it and you'll get a drop down menu. Click on the join 52/59 social forum. That should get give you the "authority" you need.
