Default Re: Mecum Auction Dallas

Did anyone have any on site info to share? I was told by only 1 source a lot of the cars were not what they seemed quality-wise. Yes there were some good ones. In my mind be it a Ford or a Ferarri, a Dodge or a Duesy, QUALITY is 1st. If you can't get her legs up and break out the speculum You don't know. I mean look under seat cushions, shine a light down the window channels and see the bottoms, lay underneath and see the floors, look for mud. Then remember these cars sat dormant for years. Fuel and cooling systems, did they have antifreeze the year of the big freeze in TX? How much oxidation is on the wiring connections? How about all those sealed beam conversions, anyone see that?

I hate to be the bearer of logic and melt everyone's ice cream here but reality bites if you don't exact due dillegence. Do I have a dog in this hunt? Well, I do have a stunning 34 3W for sale so there's that. Anyways, did anyone else have boots on the ground there?
