Default make the 34 front brakes work

I made a little fixture to machine my oversize brake shoes for the new drums that I got from Newc - thanks mate!
Under each end of the shoes there is a small screw with locknut in the disc. Thus I can make fine adjustments to position the shoes to center them to the disc.
Anyhow - with a sharp tool it is easy to machine the shoes to the correct diameter for perfect contact right from the start.
What a joy when fitting the shoes and adjusting - no drag on the drums and instant braking when the pedal is pushed.

What a great idea!

I'm going to an estate sale on Friday because one of the photos shows a crusty Ammco brake shoe grinder. I doubt anybody will know what it is. Forty-years ago we had one at work until Osha made it a $5000.00 fine if you were caught with one in your shop.

I agree but you probably should be scared of inhaling asbestosis as you grind the shoes which is why the the machines were banned - Make sure you wear a good respirator . -Mesotheiloma is not a great cancer to get -Karl
