I don't know if I can paste into this communication, but will try to paste a sheet from Tom Endy on the gas gauge. When you have all the gaskets in place you really need two to three of the brass rings on the large ring. http://Gas-Gauge-Repair.pdf
If this doesn't work search Tom Endy - Gas gauge repair and it might come up
