Radius rubber ball replacement

I was putting a new radius rubber ball on the 36. I try to couple different things from screwdrivers to two bicycle tire changing spoons but I couldn’t get it on. I did a search came up with 2 teaspoons. It literally took less than one minute. My search on the Ford Barn came up with a solution, thanks

I heat the ball in boiling water for a bit. This makes the rubber much more pliable.
Then, spray glass cleaner over the ball and inside the rubber insulator. Once it's on, the glass cleaner will evaporate. Do not use any type of permanent lubricant.

Do they still manufacture those rubber balls with a tiny hole opposite the big hole? If so, put the big hole in the rubber ball up against the metal wishbone ball. Hold your pneumatic blow gun nozzle FIRMLY against the tiny hole in the rubber ball. Burp the blow gun directing the air pressure into the tiny hole in rubber ball. The rubber ball should practically jump onto the steel ball. DD

The ball should have a small hole opposite the larger one. What I do is hold the rubber ball against the steel ball with some pressure then with the blow gun on my air hose blow a burst of air in the small hole. It jumps on every time.

I put K-Y jelly on the wishbone ball. It's water soluble so it won't destroy the rubber ball. The rubber ball slides right on.
