28/29 gas cap marking question (ID help)
Two caps with consistent vertical markings all the way around. A telltale sign of a reproduction?

they are both old cheap reproductions with a vent hole in the top.

I wondered whether the originals were brass or steel, I suspected brass, now I know, tnx.

all of the originals that i have seen were brass. and did not have a vent hole on top
