Look for this diamond casting mark above the timing cover. "Diamond" blocks were manufactured after Model A production ended for replacement motors and industrial use. If your motor has this diamond mark, the casting date code begins with month represented by a letter (J= 10th letter in alphabet), then day and year. This one was cast October 21, 1936. These motors typically have a few improvements like "B" cam and exhaust valve seat inserts.
