Since most installations are very visible, would there be a point reduction if it is judged?

I believe Mike was trying to answer your question with subtle kindness, and maybe with a little humor mixed-in. I think it boils-down to the fact that Mikey's "new" book, which is pretty comprehensive, mentions nothing about an electric pump from the factory that I saw....."The Book" covering most of the criteria used when judging these old used cars. DD

Okay, I thought my reply was simple enough to deduce the answer you were seeking. Let's go another route:
The car is supposed to judged as to the way it left the factory. If there was not an electric pump on the car when it left the factory, then there is a point deduction.
