Default What sealant to use on a new roof / top?

I'm getting ready to install a new roof on my '29 Coupe and want to know about the options for a sealant. What did Henry use? What have you used sucessfully in the past? Are there any tricks you'd like to share?

I recommend Butyl rubber sealant. It is very flexible, and it can be cleaned up easily with mineral spirits. Polyurethane sounds like a good idea, but it can be very messy, and could set up too fast. Search for "Butyl" in this forum for more info.

I sealed my top with 3m Wndow-Weld. I think cause i didnt know no better. It sets up fast, so you have to work fast and very carefully to avoid messes. It is dificult to clean up. Lots of preparation and planning required. The top came out nice though and it does not leak - even in a Texas size downpour.

I , last week bought another tube (10 oz) to seal up a leaking windshield gasket and the tube cost $20.00 - expensive stuff
