Sector shaft removal
Hello all, I've looked but cant find anything related to my question. On my 28 roadster 7 tooth steering gear. Is it possible to remove the pitman arm and the sector shaft adjuster cover and wiggle the old sector shaft out for inspection? Can it be done without removing the column?

The Service Bulletin of April 1928, Page 242 may be of help.

Re: Sector shaft removal
I would have to think the shaft fits through the rail, it's already through the frame now. Doesnt the steering gear and sector slide through the rail during installation? I'm wondering if the shaft can slide out towards the engine side once the end cover is removed. No?

Re: Sector shaft removal
I'm thinking I'll just pull the column, I was hoping I wouldn't need to.
