Strange Noise
Trying to chase down an under hood slapping metal sound while driving my '40. Months ago started with a ticking sound. Now it's loud slapping metal when accelerating up a grade. Tempo slows near the top in tune with slowing engine rpm's. Is this something I could expect from a leaking exhaust manifold or something else? Carl

Re: Strange Noise
Check the condition of your motor mounts. Your fan blade may kiss the radiator on acceleration with sloppy motor mounts.

Re: Strange Noise
All 4 motor mounts are new plus tight steady rods. Carl

Check for loose or worn fan belt....
