I was trying to determine if my cross shaft bushing area had any wear. The measurement on both ends of my cross shaft are .790 inches. On one end there was a bushing made of some kind of metal and a fiber lining on the inside. That bushing is not magnetic. On the other end is a solid metal bushing that is magnetic and does not have the fiber lining. I had quite a bit of slop sideways and up and down. I'm still not sure if there is any wear to the shaft.

The area directly inside of the cross shaft levers (arms) will not have any wear. The OD of that area will be the same as the bushing area as it was machined in one op.
