Thanks for the heads up Tom. I pulled the rear end on my Town Sedan today to install my Mitchell . On the advice of Tom Endy I pulled the axle without the spring. Glad I did. Just as Tom mentioned in another thread one of my shackles was broken. Looks like it broke right at the lube hole, same place as Tom's Grandson's Tudor.

Looks like it has been broken for a while, notice how much the bar is worn and it is cracked. Appears I caught it just in time...

Something to watch out for.
