According to the EFV-8 C/A 1935-1936 Ford Book:
"The 1935 standard instrument panel was painted maroon with matching knobs with white embossed letters. There was a vermillion stripe on either side of the center domed cover, but this was eliminated in December 1934. The deluxe car instrument panels were painted Metallic Taupe with Light Taupe plastic knobs and grommets. Lettering was embossed with Red Vermillion." |

5tbird7 You will have to blame Mr. Ford for a lack of a special name for his maroon dash color on the standard 35 Ford. The Ford paint number and description is: M-984 Maroon Pyroxylin Dash/Trim 1935. Thats it!!!
Acme Paint had a mix formula from years ago...Here it is along with metallic taupe (Deluxe Dash)!! |

Autocolorlibrary.com 1935 Ford shows interior colors on page 3 midway down on the right side of the page. It says an interior color was Verona Maroon. I am assuming this was the color used on the standard dash. Check with Don Rogers to confirm.

Verona Maroon is the name of an exterior body color, not a dash color.

![]() My 1935 5 window deluxe coupe's dash color is a dark metallic gray/ with maybe green tint. I was told it was stock. The Mohair seat upholstery looks to be a drab green for the lack of a bette descriptor. I was told or led to believe it was the stock color. Car exterior is black with green pin stripping and wheel centers. Don, was I misled? |

No Bullshark, You weren't misled. You have a Deluxe car and it had a dark metallic taupe dash. Standard cars had a maroon dash.

Ok, thks Don. Now I know what dark metallic taupe looks like. Could have fooled me. Thought taupe was more brown.

I am looking at a 1935 Ford 5 window. It's is said to be a model 48 (770 DeLuxe). I will attempt to attach photos. Can you help me find the original color? Also what is a value you'd place on it? It is in quite good shape. Black exterior. Correct tan cloth interior. Maroon dash. I could not verify the serial number in any location but the registration states: 181758782. The wheels are now black but are showing green underneath. I notices many black coupes for sale have green wheels, can someone e lighten me. I'm a truck guy but always eager to learn!

Fast54, I think that is a standard coupe, not a deluxe coupe. I personally prefer the look of 35 standard cars over 35 deluxe cars, but both are nice. Deluxe cars had chrome grills and windshield frames, along with many other changes from standards.

Fast54, I agree with the others, that's a beautiful coupe. As to the value, I wouldn't consider pricing any car that I couldn't verify serial numbers. Your registration is definitely for a 1935 Ford, but is it actually for the car you are looking at? All Fords of the era had registration numbers stamped on the top surface of the left side frame, visible under the hood. The number would start and end with a star.
