1950. First car I ever worked on was a Model A hotrod with a flathead V8 in 1963. Guy down the street owned the car and let me help him wrench on the car.

I once heard it said " If you can't run with the big dogs than stay on the porch" Every year I find it harder to run with the big dogs, But I'm not ready to stay on the porch yet either. |

I was born in late November 1946 . My real interest in model A's began around 1955 when I was 9 or10 years old . Our neighbors kid had a brush painted red , strip down model A that we rode and drove in the pastures . The neighbors kid Roger Davis was 14 and I was around 9 or 10 years old . Roger would sometimes set the levers so that the model Al would creep along at just above walking speed . Roger would jump out and trot along side of the car while I steered and drove the model A . Steering and driving the old strip down was a big thrill to me . As soon as I was nearly old enough I got my own strip down model A . I've still got that strip down September 29 after 60 years and counting .
