Help to identify landau irons
Hi all and a very merry Christmas from Australia. Guys I have a pair of landau irons I bought years ago for a future project. I’m just trying to identify what they actually belong to.
They carry the part number AF&S co 2702A and B Searches so far show for A models close to these numbers but I haven’t found an exact match. They are 21 3/4” between hole centres. Thanks Dan |

Re: Help to identify landau irons
It would be much easier to identify part if the vendor had used a Ford part number to begin with.
The 27XX series is in the parking brake area when using Ford part numbers. Using Ford part number, the catalog will many times tell year and model the part was used on along other info like on bolts /screws the pitch, length and size i.e. 1/4 20 etc. Last edited by Benson; 12-19-2019 at 11:08 AM. |

Re: Help to identify landau irons
I'll look at some original 68 B when I get back.
68C's are 2812 & 2813 A&B Those are the mfg #'s not Ford part #'s |

Re: Help to identify landau irons
AF&S made bars for Ford as well as others. The numbers are different than the 68A/B Cabriolet but not by much if I remember correctly. The fixed non-folding types would be Sport Coupe type.

Re: Help to identify landau irons
If someone has the latest Restoration guidelines there are about 4 different landau irons . They show all the numbers on the back side . I don't have my copy handy or I would verify if yours are Model a . Norm

Re: Help to identify landau irons
As it turns out my irons won’t be suitable for my buddy who is looking for a pair of landau irons for an Aussie 33 coupe. The early 33 coupe is a sports coupe only as they couldn’t fabricate the entire roof yet in steel. So what he needs looks identical to the 32 sports coupe landau irons that actually have a dogleg in them at the bottom. They’re 22&1/4” between the hole centres and are non folding type. I’ll post this in wanted site too

No help with your search but having owned a Sport Coupe, I'm curious. Being early 33 does the car have 33 styling or 32? Can you post a pic of the whole car, especially if it's 33 style? AFAIK 32 was the last US Sport Coupe and there weren't many of those. That's interesting because Model A SC was available throughout production so they're relatively common. If there was no 5-window production in Australia, I'd guess 32/33 Sport Coupes are more common there than US. |
