Car Show Pic
At the local car show today I thought of the Ford Barn when looking at this fine 41 pickup. Don't have any details but it looks like it has had a full restoration. New wood in the box floor.

Re: Car Show Pic
The flathead under the hood looked like a close match to original if it wasn't . Shifter on the floor. Tires are radial P235-75R15.

Re: Car Show Pic
A link to the youtube video I put together showing a bit more of the cars that were at the show. Apparently the video will be blocked in some countries due to a copyright violation. Seems the music playing at the show was loud enough to catch the ear of the copyright checkers.

Restoration: the process of repairing or renovating a building, work of art, vehicle, etc., so as to restore it to its original condition.

Resurrection: the skill and ability of an individual or individuals, usually a father/son who bring a forgotten "dead" auto back to a safe ,working mechanical work of art. Done on an affordable budget with many, many time constraints.
Enjoyed by many @ your local cruise night or car show, were we gather and show off what we did over the long cold winter, very nice indeed. P.S. I also like and respect the time and effort put into the fully restored concourse vehicles |

I was not attempting to disparage anyone's vehicle nor their personal interests. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with continuing education. Lord knows I learn each and every day. Still, I continue to make mistakes and strive so as not to repeat them. I am confident that you and (hopefully) most others would agree that learning should not be disparaged as well. By the way, the truck in the original post appears to be one anybody could and should be proud of. A restoration? Nope...

Re: Car Show Pic
The definition doesn't say anything about "original" meaning only as built from the factory condition does it? The synonyms certainly show differently: repair, repairing, fixing, mending, refurbishment, reconditioning, rehabilitation, rebuilding, reconstruction, remodelling, redecoration, revamping, revamp, makeover, overhaul etc.
Just saying........ |

Re: Car Show Pic
Restoration. Former state.
form·er1 /ˈfôrmər/ adjective: former 1. having previously filled a particular role or been a particular thing. Could be factory or other, i guess. Maybe the restoration people should call it factory restored? Synonyms are different. They are mostly commonly used to project that you have a vocabulary when writing a paper or other. syn·o·nym /ˈsinəˌnim/ noun plural noun: synonyms a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language Synonyms are exactly or close to the same. Not always exactly the same. Personally I don't care what someone does to their car. . Last edited by Tinker; 07-03-2019 at 11:18 PM. |

Re: Car Show Pic
Tinker, that's my feeling too. "Factory restored" or "restored to factory condition" describes an exact form of restoration.
