I ended up using them anyway. I justified it in my mind that since the engine would always be on a Fastenal truck and at a Fastenal facility, it would be pretty unlikely they could lose it altogether. And if it is crated correctly, they probably wouldn't damage it either.

Their rates are really good and I shipped without issue.
