It's going to depend on how it was chromed, but I would assume very thin on a commercial part. We would have the in house (Boeing) chrome shop add material to a undersized part to tighten it up. But that was in the couple of thousands range. Believe commercial plating is way less than a thousandth.

Yep, my point exactly. And you can bet ol' Bob Drake ain't paying the Chinese for that super duper long lasting plating.
