You can use any early Ford wire wheel on stock Model A brake drums. If you try to use 1940 and up solid rims you will have a problem because the wheel will not seat properly when it is installed. You need a spacer. If you try to run early Ford wire wheels with the later (1940+) brake drums you will have a different problem but still involving the wheel not seating properly. The bad news is that it will work for a while and it will appear to be ok.
