Default Will Model A speedo drive work on V8 torque tube?

We've put in 3.54 gears and want to switch to an 18 tooth speedometer gear and housing. 18 tooth Model A housing/gears are available (Bratton's P/N 23170). Will these bolt on the later torque tube?

Thanks

Yes, but...
Two different sizes at the actual cable: '28-9-early '30 with oval speedo uses one cable, '30-31-V8 another.

As Bruce says, get the gear for the late model A. Also get the press in bushing, looks like a hat with a hole, the long version. The extra $1.15 is well worth it as you will demolish the old one getting it out. Also the 18 tooth will only work in a turtle that had 3:78 (19 tooht). The 4:11 , 21 tooth turtle is too tall and the 18 tooth gear will not reach down far enough to pick up on the gear on the driveshaft.

It seemed like the 19 tooth turtle was too tall for the 18 tooth gear, too. It wouldn't engage the ring on the drive shaft. When you talk about getting the late model, do you mean the one that has the square drive?

Late Model means late 1930--31 Model A, same square drive as V-8's...unless of course you are using the '28-9 oval face speedometer in your car, which needs the early plus an early speedo cable.
Try to find a complete turtle...full gear mesh is good. Doesn't Bratton's have them as repro assemblies?
