As Tom Wesenberg has said, set the timing and forget it! If you have to remove the distributor cam then you will need to reset the timing. If you remove the distributor, you may need to retime if you turn the motor while it’s out. Why do we mess with the timing? The points wear and this affects the the timing, just adjust and have a nice drive! :-)
