To get some more head room you could remove SOME air from the tires just not all.
Looks like you are doing a great job on a nice truck.

yea, you need new fenders, new fenders can be painted to match the original truck, add a little white paint to red paint and some flattener to the mix. Wish you were closer my son is an artist at this type of work. He did a 36 Ford, just touching up and blending the paint to match and has done a lot of this type of work to brand x Camaro's to some original paint--even one for Hendrix of nascar fame

Well, I tore a bit farther into the truck last weekend, and found out just how bad some of the sheet metal really was. In particular, looks like I really need one of these...
I'm unsure of the part number, but I would consider this to be the core support. This bracket/brace connects the top of the radiator to both the fender and the grill, as well as the "nose" piece. This piece came from the driver side, and thankfully the passenger side is in much better shape. But uh...anyone know where I can find one? If they have a passenger side I'd take it as well, but that one isn't rusted through, I could make it work.

Otherwise, all the sheet metal is off the front. I plan to take the truck to the pressure washer to wash the oil and grime from the engine, then I have to tear into that to replace a few leaking gaskets.

With any luck, I'll start to have some more time and money soon.
