I was told that in assembly, the windlace was covered with paper, installed, and then painted. The paper, which protected the windlace from paint, was then removed. Gary--thanks for the pictures-they are very helpful, especially since I was not the person who took it all apart. I always try to take a lot of pictures before, during and after disassembly. As we now all have digital cameras we don't have to worry about the cost of film so taking a ton of pictures is not a problem!
