Dennis,
The plant numbers can appear anywhere on the front steel body cross member. This is the steel cross member that the front horizontal wooden floorboard sits into at its rear side. Some were even stamped into the drivers side rail in the door opening area. The stamps used vary in size from on plant to another as does the orientation of the stampings.
