Please tell me if any 1939 or 40 Ford cars came from the factory with the battery mounted in a recess on the firewall. I thought they all were mounted in a battery tray that attaches to the frame rail on the right side of the engine. Thank you, JIM

I do not believe any 39-40's had a recess in the firewall. Of course, I am often wrong, but never in doubt.

The 39 Standard had the battery in a recess in the firewall. The DeLuxe and 40's had the battery tray.
