Default Bottom radiator hose

I need a bottom radiator hose for my 31 Town Sedan and found that there are a couple options.
1. Go with the original style two hoses with a metal connector.
2 Get a Gates 26502 flexible hose (1 3/4 ID X 16 1/2 long)

The Gates hose is less expensive and I am not concerned about originality but is there a reason I should stay with the original design?

If it fits, I would buy the Gates.

Does the rubber hose have a drain cock?

I'd stick with the original.

My vote would be original too. Not a pressurized system, so you won't have to worry about burst strength or anything that Gates is known for.

I would go stock just because that is what I like to see when I raise the hood. I think Aires makes that tube in stainless (that you could paint black).

quickly pop the hose off the side of the engine water neck and drain the system into a pan in about 5 seconds haha. Or just run antifreeze and dont need to drain it...
